Eco Maya Animal Rehabilitation

At Eco Maya’s wildlife rehabilitation center, the welfare of our animals always comes first! Unlike some other “animal sanctuaries” in the area, our goal is always to get our furry (or feathery, or scaly, or…) residents back into the wild as quickly as possible.

Animals are cared for in the least-invasive way possible, to make sure they have the best chance to return to a “normal life” in the wild. When that’s not possible (if an animal is too injured, too at-risk, or too “socialized” to human company to make re-wilding safe) we go to great lengths to give them the best possible care in the best possible environment, to help them live long, happy lives.

Our animals are not photogenic (and highly profitable) props for tourist “photo ops” – their well-being is the entire reason we exist!
